Incoming connections blocked - OSX with Time Capsule

Postby nathan » Thu Jan 08, 2009 3:21 pm

I have Mac OSX, Leopard, and use a Time Capsule router. My incoming connections are blocked. I have used the connection wizard, my firewall is off, I have tried setting the appropriate ports, all the stuff everyone says you should do. My ISP will not allow me to use a static IP, I get no connection then. Is there anything I can do to connect?

Hi Natan,

Until Qnext Tech Support is able to respond here are some ideas you can look at.

Does your OS "OR" any security program you have installed might have any allow or exceptions list ?
If so add Qnext to that list.

Found this in the Apple Forums, just before this one poster said that there was a "nat firewall" in the Time Capsule router.
But here is someones directions of setting up the router with a firewall.
TC IP = 111.222.333.124
Firewall Green Interface = 111.222.333.125
Firewall Red Interface = 111.222.333.126

DHCP on TC gives 111.222.333.124 as default gateway to clients, which shouldn't need changing.

Did you set your TC's Default gateway to the IP address of the Firewall's Green interface and then the Firewall's Red interface default gateway to the Router's IP address?

Have done that but no traffic available. Just wondering whether or not I should set up a separate VLAN on the switch for the Red network just in case that is confusing matters.

Thoughts?

Stu
